James J. Calmes an Sons Breaks Ground with Road America

(KAUKAUNA, Wis.) – James J. Calmes and Sons, a leading provider of commercial construction and utility services in the Kaukauna, Wis., area, has broken ground on Road America’s new 5,500-square-foot administration building.

The building is located within the current Road America grounds, two miles south of Elkhart Lake, Wis. on State Highway 67. It is designed to reflect the rural, farming heritage of the community, using simple geometric forms, traditional gabled roofs, wood clapboard siding and double-hung windows to complement the area’s 19th-century Victorian architecture.

“We love to work on projects that combine contemporary building elements with rich community history,” said Randy Calmes, owner of James J. Calmes and Sons. “It really makes for a great finished product.”

Project completion is anticipated for spring of 2009. Milwaukee, Wis.-based Zimmerman Architectural Studios, Inc., is credited with the building’s design.
