May 31, 2017, Wrightstown WI —New life is coming to a historic Wrightstown building thanks to James J. Calmes Construction, Inc. and Calmes Customs. By midsummer, the Calmes team will transform the 104 High Street location into a “fresh” vintage themed coffee shop, The River Coffee & Cream. The building is located just across the street from Fox’s Pizza Den and is one of a few commercial construction projects in Wrightstown, WI that JJ Calmes & Sons, Inc. is proud to be working on.
Owners, Deb and Roger Tews look forward to serving coffee, ice cream, salads, sandwiches, wine and craft beer to the Wrightstown community. “It’s a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the Fox River. When we saw that Tom from JJ Calmes was as excited as we were about renovating this old building, it sealed the deal,” said Deb Tews, Owner of The River Coffee & Cream.
James J. Calmes Construction is fully renovating the 1250 square foot building. “We did our research and read reviews on the JJ Calmes and their commercial construction expertise. They have solid, noted experience in state and local construction regulations, which is what I was looking for because we had no experience there at all,” said Deb. She is longing to see the completion of this renovated building, especially the refinished wood floors and the new fireplace that will utilize an existing block chimney.
Deb and Roger were formerly house parents for the Rawhide Boys Ranch, located in New London, WI. Rawhide Boys Ranch is a faith-based organization that offers a variety of services to at-risk teenage boys and their families. While it was hard for them to retire from an organization that brought so much good to the community, it became apparent that what they loved the most was serving others.
Deb and Roger have always had a love for coffee and dreamed of sharing that love. Their dream is becoming a reality through this building renovation and soon The River Coffee & Cream will open its doors to the public.
James J. Calmes Construction is proud to be selected for this commercial construction, as well as the Wrightstown Wellness Center.
Stay tuned for more updates and new information as The River Coffee & Cream project continues to evolve.
